Operation
The controllers have separate ON/OFF switches.
Rotating the control knob clockwise will increase the speed of the fan (s) from a pre set minimum to full speed with infinitely variable control.
Replacement fuses should be, or similar to
Ceramic 32mm 6amp (F)
Installation
Check that the number, size and speed of the fans can be safely controlled by the ME 1.3 speed controller (please ring or use the enquiry form to check)
Please Note
This ME 1.3 Controller can control any manufacture of compatible fan (please ring or use the enquiry form to check).
Install in a dry sheltered position. Leave an air space of not less than 150mm around the controller to allow cooling air to flow freely.
Do NOT install in close proximity to other heat sources. The maximum ambient temperature of the controller must not exceed 40C Remove the front cover of the ME 1.3 controller by removing the cover fixing screws.
This provides access to mounting holes and terminals.
If more fans need to be controlled, a junction box can be used to parallel the various connections or paralleled at the terminal block.
Two types of motors are used at present. One with a separate capacitor box, where particular attention must be paid to the capacitor which must be connected differently for use with this controller.
The second type has a capacitor fitted to the motor, this will have a link between U and P (in Flakt Woods fans only, other manufacturers fans may have different markings please ring or use the enquiry form to check) which must be removed.
In each case connections must be as shown in the circuit diagram.
An external thermostat or switch may be fitted to enable the fan to run at a pre set speed adjusted by the controller, and maximum speed set by the temperature set point of the thermostat or operation of switch.
Connect the thermostat contacts or switch to the U and Z of the controller, as shown in the circuit diagram.
Should the current rating of the fuse in the controller exceed that of the wiring of the fans, individual fan protection should be provided.
If overload protection for each fan is to be used, then this should be situated in each common line (UZ) only
